| | Profile | | Dr. Reed's research and teaching interests are in the area of second language acquisition with a focus on speech perception of connected discourse by non-native speakers. In particular, recent research investigates the role of auditory feedback in speech perception. A second strand of her work involves teacher training, with a focus on relating linguistic theory and second language acquisition research to pedagogical applications. Additional areas of interest include materials development, both domestic and in the Far East. She is presently co-authoring a methods textbook for teachers of English as a second or foreign language. In addition to her teaching in the Literacy and Language specialization, Dr. Reed is also affiliated faculty in the Program in Applied Linguistics in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and Program Coordinator for the graduate TESOL Certificate in the School of Education. |
