| Profile | | Dr. Lannak's principal interest is in the application of child development theory and research to educational practice in schools and childcare settings. She has developed education and training programs for teachers and administrators and has spoken extensively to parent groups and professional organizations both nationally and internationally on such topics as learning environments, quality childcare, and childrens literature. Dr. Lannak is also the director of the Early Childhood Learning Lab at the School of Education. The facility includes a preschool, a curriculum design center, and a research observation room. Dr. Lannak has served on the boards of the Association for Young Children, Europe and The National Association for the Education of
Young Children. She has also served as the Academic Coordinator of Boston Universitys Early Childhood Education Programs Overseas. |

| Selected Presentations | - Presentation made to American educators in Heidelberg, Germany, addressing the importance of establishing a sense of community in early childhood education programs. Association for the Education of Young Children, Europe.
- Presentation made at the National Association for the Education of Young Children's national conference in Washington, D.C. This session provided the attendees with an introduction to a specific approach to curriculum for young children based on the inquiry method developed at the Early Childhood Learning Lab at Boston University's School of Education.
