Profile
Evelyn Ford-Connors has nearly two decades of experience in the educational field. Prior to joining the faculty at the School of Education in 2000, she taught at the Intergenerational Literacy Project founded by Dr. Jeanne Paratore, coordinated a career awareness and dropout prevention program with middle school students in the Lowell, Massachusetts Public Schools, and worked with the Lowell District Court to develop job skills education programs for high school students. She has collaborated with educational consultants in support of teachers' classroom practice and has written grants to assist several Massachusetts school districts with their mentoring and beginning teacher induction programs. Her research interests center on the development of literacy skills for adolescent learners, and she has worked on several projects with the Boston Public Schools. She has also tutored children in the Boston University Reading and Writing Clinic.
Courses Taught
  •    Workshops and short series on reading and writing topics related to the SED Literacy Test and academic literacy skills. Individual tutorials in reading and writing for SED undergraduates and graduates on topics identified in the SED Literacy Test.

    • Chairperson of Task Force on New Market Initiatives for the Department of Literacy and Language, resulting in the creation of new certificate programs.
